Today atfer morning tea the whole school came togeher in the hall to do some drumming. The Junior school classes partnered up with the Senior students, this was so they could help them stay on beat. Our teacher's name was Johnny, he is from Rhythm Interative's (Here's a link http://rhythminteractive.co.nz/) Johnny told us the name of the drum that he was playing was called an African Djembe (it means to bring joy to all) . To help keep the rythym Johhny explained that if you say it, you can play it. I found this was very helpful. I really enjoyed the Drumming and had a lot of fun. I would like to thank Johnny for sharing this experience with our school.

Rhythm Interative's visit to PBS

Experience at Tamaki collge/Tech
Today at Tech I finished making my clock after we finish tehc we went to the libarry for lunch then we had some kids from year 9 helping us if we got stuck on our work the first class we went to was math in math we play a game of billy bug and his quest for grub then we went to science then we had some amazing things to do with dry ice.

Laika... A Summary
Today we used our skimming and scanning skills to find the information and detail we needed to write a summary. Skimming like a low flying plane. You look over the information once, (this should take about about 3 - 5 seconds). Scanning is like a helicopter, you find what it is looking for and then hover over until the information has been found. To practise these skills we created a DLO that summarises Laika's journey in Sputnik 2.

Kiwi Can
This term in Kiwi Can our topic is Integrity. Integrity is thinking about what you do when you do something when no one is looking. An example of this is owning up to what you did. What I found about integrity is that you have to be honest to everything you do.

place Value
This DLO show how I used the strategy of place Value Partitittoning to sove addition questions. During our maths lesson I pracitisceed useing this number and word questions. when I was anwering the word questions I had to look for the maths so that I knew what strategy I used. The more I used this strategy the easier it got.
